            A brief introduction to Shanghai Journal of Preventive Medicine 

Shanghai Journal of Preventive Medicine(SJPM) sponsored by Shanghai Preventive Medicine AssociationISSN 1004-9231, CN 31-1635/R , was founded in October 1989. Over the past 33 years, the Journal has been “a mentor for preventive health care professionals and an important link between professionals”. It is a platform to exchange academic achievements and information, to encourage the development of new technology, to combine theory with practice, popularization with improvement in the fields of preventive medicine, public health and safety, maternity care, health education, health supervision and community health work.

The Journal is highly recognized and widely studied by the vast number of public health and preventive medicine scholars. In 2015, the Journal had the honor of being invited to join the Chinese Society of Preventive Medicine. In November 2017, the Journal was granted the Chinese Preventive Medicine Association Impact Award. The Journal website was launched in January 2018 (http://www.sjpm.org.cn), which was a start of a complete and successful transformation to digital publication. At the same time, the mobile version of the online website was launched.

The Journal is published on the 20th of every month, with 2000 copies printed per month. The Journal has a variety of manuscripts types, including but not limited to original research academic articles with innovative and important significance, as well as literature reviews and informative articles reflecting the latest development of the discipline. The journal periodically publishes supplements and special tissues devoted to areas of current interest, e.g. food safety, child and women health, infectious disease control, etc . The readers are mostly scholars involved in scientific research and practice of preventative medicine and public health.
